Think of the most perfect place you can imagine, then multiply by 10. Perfect x 10 =
Casa Muy Grande! We stayed there for a week at the end of May 2006, and all of
the pictures are from the property. Casa Muy Grande is secluded enough to avoid
the hectic (but fun) nearby Tamarindo, but not at all isolated – with 4 or 5 watering
holes within walking distance and a great market just a few minutes walk away.
TESTIMONIALS
CMG is like summer camp. No actually, it's like "choose your own adventure." It
can be a place of total relaxation or non stop action. Whether you're having a
dance party by the pool or reading a book in the shade, there seems to be an
opportunity to run at whatever pace suits you. Some people were always taking
long walks on the beach and bathing in the sun. I spent most of my time by the
pool…drunk. When I got up from my lounge chair it was to check out the surf.
Good surf is not hard to come by at Playa Grande. Basically there is always some
kind of swell in the water. My friends and I had our most success surfing by storm
(i.e. riding large Costa waves in the pouring rain with thunder and lightning
overhead). The water had to be 85 degrees, like a warm bath. It's a laugh out loud
experience.
Actually, I found out later storm
surfing is very dangerous and not
recommended. So what then? Oh
I don't know…how about a game of
Foosball at the Tiki Bar? A couple
Flor De Cañas later and you'll be
back in the warm Pacific Ocean
and surrounded by water
phosphorescence. Thanks for the
memories

Having never been to Costa Rica, I could not have
imagined a better spot that Casa Muy Grande! Remote,
yet central we were able to experience it all. We
surfed..we zip-lined...we lounged by the pool...we made
fruity beach drinks in the largest blender I have ever
seen...we visited the Tamarindo hot spots...we even
went to the mud baths. Most importantly, Casa Muy
Grande provided an oasis setting to a perfect girls
weekend!
There is also some volcanic mud baths you can
get pretty dirty in- which we enjoyed. The rooms
are very comfortable and spacious and quite state
of the art. The pool is ridiculous- perfect for the
fantastic weather. We enjoyed many a margarita
there and beach is a 30 second walk away
through a beautiful pathway. It is the perfect spot to
relax with a group of friends. I would come back
here and recommended it to anyone!

We had an amazing time at Casa Muy Grande!! The area is beautiful! The house
itself is perfect. Totally secluded, yet if you want it there are fantastic dining options
within walking distance, surf lessons are available on the beach itself and the
location is perfect for day adventures such as canopy tours, white water rafting and
hot springs.
We went to Tamarindo a few times
and bought the freshest fish ever
(tuna and mahi mahi from Pedro’s
atthe end of the street) to bring back
to cook in the Casa’s fabulous grill
(out by the tiki hut – the house is
equipped with everything you could
want). We also went up to Playa
Flamingo for a cruise and snorkeling
for an afternoon, but there was really
no reason to ever leave Casa Muy
BUENO BUENO Grande, the flowers,
the statues, the beach, the monkeys,
and even the crazy-looking crabs.

I just returned from an incredible week at Casa Muy Grande..... and now I can't stop
dreaming about my return. Nestled amongst the trees the beautiful house, pool
and grounds are hard to leave. But, take just a few steps along the private path and
you are on one of the worlds most breathtaking beaches - great surf and even
better sunsets.

Casa Muy Grande is the ideal spot if
you like to be just a bit off the beaten
path but have access to all of what
matters on a Costa Rican vacation.
Awesome surf is just out the back door
or up the beach, great fishing for billfish
and dorado is just a few miles offshore
(caught this dorado on a half day trip as
well as a bunch of football sized
yellowtail for sashimi), and the
excitement in Tamarindo is there when
you want it and far away when you
don't. Not to mention a fun ball court on
site...it just does not get any better!

As the yoga teacher for four women I
found this beautiful villa a perfect
match for a restorative, rejuvenating
week of sun, fun, spa treatments,
exceptional restaurants, home group
cooking with the help of staff and
Costa Rican flavorings. For a relaxing
and uplifting vacation there can be no
better way to experience this peaceful
paradise. Surfing, swimming, hiking,
relaxing with a beach massage or a
good book...the white sands of Playa
Grande await...Thank you Jose, Inez
and Maria for your incredible service
and attention...and thank you to the
staff of neighboring eateries, Bula
Bula, MarySol, Cantarana....Most of
all...Thank You Casa Muy Grande!

I just returned home from an unbelievable week in the beautiful Costa Rican Casa
Muy Grande. Rising each morning for sunrise yoga on the beach and bathing in the
warm surf of the receding tide was sublime. What a way to start a day in the sun!
What a great vacation! Casa Muy Grande was the perfect setting for an annual
pilgrimage to paradise for our group of friends. The beach is huge and empty,
allowing plenty of room for beach sports and affording all the privacy one could want
in such a beautiful setting.
The surf was great, a 2-minute walk to
one of the best surf breaks in Central
America, and was the primary reason we
chose CMG for our destination. Even
though we spent a lot of time on the
waves, the house afforded us a ton of
activities for those who didn’t surf. Having
our own private beach club was the
perfect way to enjoy the weather outdoors
with all of our friends. I can’t wait to return
(maybe for the honeymoon)! P.S. Don’t
miss the best pizza in Costa Rica, just
down the road.

There is no chance that this testimonial could accurately reflect the incredible time we
had at Casa Muy Grande. Whether you are looking to relax, party or stay active,
Casa Muy Grande is the perfect vacation spot. Not only did we learn how to surf just
steps outside our door, but we also went horseback riding in Tamarindo and had a
spa day at the house!
The nearby restaurants are all is a cross

Grande, however, is the path from the
house to the beach, which makes you
feel as if you're strolling through an exotic
forest before you emerge onto the vast
and private beach behind the house.

We wholeheartedly recommend Casa Muy Grande to anyone who is looking for a
vacation spot with tons of privacy, beautiful beaches and a house and a vacation
spot with tons of privacy, beautiful beaches and a house and property that include so
many amenities (including a bar and surfboards!) that you never really have to (or
want to) leave! Conor, thanks so much for giving us the opportunity to stay at Casa

Casa Muy Grande is the
most fantastic place in all
of Costa Rica! Your is
absolutely beautiful and
so convenient; it is so
nice how each room has
its own entrance, private
bathroom and slider to
the pool. The
backyard/private beach
is amazing- I loved the
tiki bar! Thank you so
much for a great
vacation!

Casa Muy Grande is
modern, clean, and
comfortable. It's
perfect for a larger
group of friends or
family. The grounds
and pool were
absolutely beautiful.
Jose and Maria were
very kind and helpful.
Staying there was so
much better and more
personal than being in
a hotel!
-Casey Reckman,

What a slice of utopian paradise! The entire stay felt as if it were a surreal dream in
which we all had a life filled with relaxation and fun all within the confines of a beautiful
two acre lot. The privacy of the rooms, the comfort of the common areas, the fun-ball
court and my goodness... THE POOL!
Throughout the stay I believe we had
a least one part of ourselves hot tub.
Then when the heart rate reached an
all-time low we would venture down
the beautiful landscaped path into
what was Casa Muy Grande's
backyard... The Pacific Ocean. At
times we would sit on our surfboards
waiting on the next set to roll through
and we were the only human beings
for miles either way. The sunsets are
out of this world and your pictures will
develop as if they were professional
postcards. At night sit out at the tiki
bar or pool and listen as the hypnotic
pound of the waves roll in. Listen for
the serenade of the tree frogs, the
bubbles of the hot tub churning and
relish in the laughter with your closest
friends and family. Thanks Conor,
Jose and Maria for an incredible muy
bueno stay!

I wanted to thank you for sharing your house and wanted to let you know that of all
the vacations we have taken, Costa Rica was our best. Playa Grande and Casa
Muy Grande were and are the perfect spots. The beach was great.
There was surf for all to enjoy. The house and
staff (Jose and Maria) were unbelievable and the
location was just right. We were only there for (1)
week and that just wasn't enough time.
We pretty much stayed close to home and ate at
the (great) local resturants, did the estuary tour
which was so cool because we got to see all we
wanted and Tamarindo was just far enough away
that we could go there to get our people fix when
we needed to. We love it so much that we are
coming back to Playa Grande again. Everyone
that has seen our pics, the home, the area, the
scenery are just amazed, especially by your home
and the grounds surrounding the home. We love
it and look forward to returning one day. Siempre
Pura Vida!

We had an AWESOME time at Casa
Muy Grande. It was perfect for us.
Caught some good waves out the
front of the house and up at the
estuary, went to the local restaurants
(Rip Jack was my favorite), saw
plenty of iguanas and monkeys, and
generally lazed about doing as little as
possible. I now have the best tan in all
of Chicago!! Jose, Maria and Luis also
looked after us well.
-David Roberts, Chicago, IL
Our entire family looks forward to our yearly vacation together. Thanks for supplying
the best vacation of our lives, the kids were in heaven kayaking in the ocean. The
adults enjoyed their time watching sea turtles and relaxing at Bula Bula. The local
towns were enjoyable as well supplying many hours of fun. Thanks as well for the
intro to Benni, his skill as a chef was incredible and he supplied many wonderful
meals for us. We look forward to vacationing at Casa Muy Grande again in the near
future!
-William McKee, Glen Mills, PA
Beyond Casa Muy Grande's spectacular grounds, service, and amenities, we
were wonderfully impressed by its unique location. It is nestled between an estuary
and the most beautiful beach we came across during our cross-country trip in
Costa Rica.
We found out Playa Grande is one
of the most important turtle nesting
sites on the Pacific and is
protected as a national park--which
translates into a pristine beach,
empty of tourism's mark, just steps
from your breakfast.
Although the restaurants and nightlife of Tamarindo are, conveniently, a short ride or
walk on the beach away, we absolutely loved to come back to this oasis. We can
only imagine what a wedding here would be like--there aren't many places like this in
the world.
-Stephanie and Henning, Oslo, Norway
The house is beautiful and
extremely comfortable. It
incorporates its natural
surroundings and has great
exposure to wildlife. I loved how
each bedroom had it's own
entrance, but was still connected
to the back padio/pool area. And
of course, the Tiki Bar is a huge
plus!!!

It is always a pleasure to give positive feedback on a trip well spent. Peter and Matt
found Casa Muy Grande to be a fabulous vacationing home. Since the house is It is
always a pleasure to give positive feedback on a trip well spent. Peter and Matt
situated on the beach, they found surf at their feet every morning and gorgeous
sunsets in the evening. Ben provided fresh and delicious dinners during those nights
to top his already famous breakfast and lunches. In addition to his duties as chef,
Ben acted as Costa Rica concierge, arranging the guys with surfing lessons and Ben
was taking care of things. In particular, we feel Ben is an invaluable part of the Casa
Muy Grande experience and want to emphasize his good character here.
-Chris Dineson, San Francisco, CA
Imagine yourself on a deserted beach- think Tom Hanks in Castaway or the TV
show Lost. Playa Grande is just that except for the few other people that might be
at the end of the beach enjoying the warm water and perfect waves. And there’s
another difference. Although one cannot see any houses from the beach, Casa
Muy Grande is just a few steps in off the beach, hidden among the tall jungle trees.
It’s the perfect house for a group because each room is private with its own
entrance and bathroom, yet the house has ideal places to convene, like the porch
with swimming pool and jacuzzi. However, I have to say my favorite part about the
house is the tiki bar, conveniently located between the beach and the main house.
The tiki bar is perfect for shelter from the hot afternoon sun. Imagine lying in one of
the hammocks, napping or reading a book. It’s also ideal for (my personal favorite)
enjoying a beer after a long surf session or an evening cocktail before heading out to
dinner at one of Grande’s local restaurants.
