A path leads through the beautiful garden of Casa Muy Grande directly to Playa Grande beach.

Playa Grande is protected by the government from further development
because it is one of the last nesting locations for the endangered
leatherback turtle.
As Costa Rica becomes an increasingly popular
tourist destination, new construction is changing
the landscape and large cranes and condos
align many of the beaches. Playa Grande will
always look as it did hundreds of years ago.
